Seed packets from PanAmerican have arrived!

PanAmerican Seed has selected Better Farm as a test site for the seed company's breakthrough, non-GMO vegetable varieties geared for northern regions.

Through this partnership, Better Farm will organically grow varietals like a late blight-resistant tomato, late-flowering basil, white-skinned cucumbers, miniature bell peppers, and mini butternut squash. This is part of a trial project by PanAmerican to find farmers throughout New York State willing to try out these different, hybrid seeds.

Better Farm will trial 19 different varieties of produce from PanAmerican, documenting how the plants do, and providing reports back to PanAmerican Seed while comparing growability to our own, Better Farm seeds and other store-bought organic seeds. Here's the list of the our trials, along with descriptions:

Stay tuned for a complete list of everything we'll be growing this year! Those interested in joining our CSA or purchasing organic produce from our farm stand this year are invited to email us at info@betterfarm.org with wish-list items for us to grow.
