DIY Kitchen Makeover at Better Farm Is Country Chic at its Finest

A year and a half after installing a custom table into the dining alcove at Better Farm, the rest of the kitchen has undergone a total makeover: new countertops, island top, sink installation, cabinet redress, revamped hardware, and the demolition of a kitchen unit long past its prime.

After tireless materials sourcing, meticulous attention to detail, lots of elbow grease, and the efforts and planning of a wide cast of characters, Better Farm now boasts an absolutely beautiful, one-of-a-kind sauna built almost entirely out of upcycled, recycled, refurbished materials.

Sure is pretty out there. Seasonal freezes help to regulate pest populations, manage water resources, and provide essential insulation for soil. Ice cover also helps lakes and other water bodies sequester carbon from the atmosphere. After a pretty relentless drought, the recent rainfall, snow, and ice are helping to regulate things ahead of winter. Keeping this in mind as we crank the wood stove and bundle up—stay warm, friends!
