It's the most exciting day for Zoo New York - Season Kickoff! This year, the zoo is coupling it with Earth Day for a mega celebration on April 25 and 26. Plan to be at the zoo for the festivities calling attention to native wildlife and protecting our local ecosystem.

This event will feature interactive stations, games, outdoor education, animal encounters, and special guests. The celebration highlights native species and encourages environmental stewardship.

BetterArts will have a station throughout the day on April 25 offering arts & crafts utilizing natural materials, as well as seed-planting. We’ll also have information on membership opportunities and upcoming events. The last time we had a table at this event was way back in 2013—we are excited to return!

Zoo New York, which now provides ongoing care for numerous elderly animals, or rescued animals who can not be returned to the wild, recently had a resurgence of support following a New York Times article that traced the zoo’s history and commitment to caring for its beloved creatures while supporting outdoor education and conservation.
